I worked with Bradley Demolition on a scheme commencing July 2024 and completing in November 2024. The scheme was the demolition of the former Shadsworth Leisure Centre, Shadsworth Rd, Blackburn, BB1 2HT comprising of pulling down of main buildings, grubbing-up of foundations and disused services, removal of extensive amounts of asbestos, filling of voids with compacted crushed fill and protection. The works included liaison with the adjacent adjoining occupied property and for working around the adjacent distribution substation which was to be retained in its current position post demolition with services retained to supply the adjacent former school building. There was a significant amount of asbestos that needed to be removed and Bradleys in house asbestos team managed the removal of this efficiently and in a very safe manner. The scope of works altered during the course of the demolition meaning that only two thirds of the building could be demolished and Bradley Demolition adapted to this very well and were able to advise us with their expertise. Bradley Demolition also managed a nominated mechanical / electrical contractor on this scheme. I have found Bradley Demolition to be an extremely reliable and knowledgeable Contractor. I can confirm that this scheme was carried out on programme and within budget. The standard of workmanship is outstanding and the operative’s performance on site and site management is exemplary. Health and safety is exceptional and risk assessments, method statements and health and safety documentation is received in advance of any works commencing on site. I would not hesitate in using this Contractor again.
