Ribbleton Residential Block Demolition Project
Following a successful tender, Bradley was awarded the contract to carry out the demolition of five residential blocks in Ribbleton, Preston.
The project was commissioned by Community Gateway, who identified the site for redevelopment due to persistent issues including low occupancy rates, frequent tenant turnover, and ongoing anti-social behaviour. The oversupply of outdated flats in the area, along with the substantial investment required to bring them up to modern living standards, led to the conclusion that demolition was the most viable and cost-effective solution.
Bradley was appointed as Principal Contractor for the scheme and took full responsibility for site management, health and safety compliance, and environmental controls throughout the project lifecycle.

Given the site’s proximity to a local school and surrounding residential areas, the demolition sequence was carefully planned to minimise disruption. Strict dust suppression techniques and noise control measures were implemented to ensure the safety and comfort of nearby residents and schoolchildren.
In alignment with sustainable practices and client requirements, all hardcore material generated from the demolition was crushed and stockpiled on site for potential reuse. A secure, fixed hoarding was installed around the perimeter, and once demolition was complete, the area was topsoiled, seeded and returned to the client ready for the next phase of development.
