Stockbridge Asbestos Removal

Location: Stockbridge Village, Knowsley

Client: Forrest

Project Scope:

Asbestos Removal from 450 flats in preparation for upgrade and sustainable heating and electric works

Upgrade Works On 5 High Rise Blocks

Forrest was appointed to deliver improvements to five high rise blocks in Stockbridge Village, Knowsley for a local housing association. Each high rise contained 90 flats and we assisted in the essential upgrade works by removing all the asbestos from the flats.

Our Asbestos Team worked closely with the client to undertake this scheme.

Sustainable Solution For 450 Flats

Forrest replaced the gas boilers (installed over 25 years ago) with individual heat exchange units. They installed a biomass energy plant, with two energy centres, burning low-cost, sustainable wood pellets to provide 450 flats in the area with renewable heat and electrical energy.

Reduced CO2 emissions

The installation is expected to considerably reduce CO2 emissions by 22,200 tonnes over the system’s lifetime, compared with traditional fossil fuel energy sources. The project will also be supported by payments through the Government’s Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI) scheme, which will contribute to a return on investment in under four years.
